Little Bighorn Floods

June 12, 2007

Chief Historian John Doerner emailed me these two photos he shot of the Little Bighorn River at Medicine Tail Ford. One can see the water flowing just over the banks of the river.

John wrote, “The LBH flowed over its banks at Wyola, Lodge Grass & parts of Crow Agency, and was on the local news yesterday!  It was almost at Hogdson's marker on June 11!”

Chief Curator Sharon Small also sent me an email stating, “The river flooded this weekend (June 9-11) down below the battlefield and I-90 was closed Saturday night.”

We’ll let you know if the river spreads further.
